Andrew's Approach

Woman talking with her hands and looking at laptop.

In our sessions, whether it’s teletherapy or in-person, I will collaborate with you to help you feel safe, feel heard, and become curious about yourself and your life. I have training and experience in different kinds of psychotherapy, including psychodynamic, family-systems, and child and teen modalities. Some clients also find meditation, mindfulness, and spirituality helpful too. I try to draw on whatever I sense may be applicable in the moment. Some clients find it interesting to know technical and diagnostic terms, others do not. The point is to do what helps.

I hope you will see that developing a consistent, compassionate alliance with you is the centerpiece of my work. Cultivating a working relationship based on trust, acceptance, and honesty allows us to get in touch with your authentic needs—and discover what might be standing in your way.

Consultations

60 MINUTE SESSION

It can be helpful to have an initial meeting with a therapist before deciding how or whether to proceed. Consultations allow us to see if we’re a good fit. During this time, we can talk openly and safely about the issues bringing you to therapy, as well as any concerns and questions you have. I’ll get to hear your wishes and needs, and you get the opportunity to see how I work. We can also discuss what treatment with me might look like in terms of frequency, goals, approach, etc.

If you’d like a consultation, please email me to see if I have availability and to discuss cost and scheduling.
