I'm a social worker and psychotherapist. I provide therapy to individuals and couples as well as short-term therapy packages.
FINDING THE INNER WISDOM TO HEAL AND GROWLife often presents its biggest problems when we grow out-of-touch with our internal reserves of authenticity and strength. There are many reasons why this can happen. The result can be recurrent bad relationships, work dissatisfaction, family strife, excessive loneliness, as well as other life problems. As emotional blocks loosen, you can break free of repetitive, unhelpful behaviors and reconnect to the parts of yourself that have gone into hiding or been neglected. Individual psychotherapy is designed to help you tune in to your essential self. "...the purpose of psychotherapy is to set people free."-Rollo May, Freedom and Destiny
Our work together allows you to sort out what you don’t need—feelings, thoughts, and even roles you may have taken on—and get closer to the parts of you that want to heal, grow, and be happy. |
LEARNING THE LANGUAGE OF VULNERABILITYPeople often come to therapy when they are having difficulty connecting to others and themselves in meaningful ways. We feel the pull to be cared-for and to care for others. To be seen and understood by the people who are important to us. At the same time, we have a strong desire to be our independent and authentic selves, and to have our needs met. You may recognize these impulses in yourself. Sometimes these desires cause internal conflicts—or conflict with someone we care about. Being in close relationships can bring up intense feelings that lead to growing-apart, sadness, and ruptures in situations where we are yearning deep-down to be loved and accepted. I have found that working with couples often means helping each partner to identify their real needs and communicate them in an honest, sustainable way. You may find this article about the value of couples counseling for unmarried couples helpful. For couples (married or unmarried) who are struggling with a specific issue and want some support, I also provide short-term therapy packages. |
A SOLUTION TO FIT THE PROBLEMSometimes you need the help of a therapist right now to get through a rough patch or untangle a problem. I offer the option of focused short-term therapy packages to help navigate present-moment difficulties. You may not be sure if you want or need long-term therapy. That’s okay. Short-term packages give us the chance to work on a specific issue relieving pressure and stress. This can make it easier to determine what your future therapy needs may be. Some examples of issues that benefit from short-term therapy:
Some clients choose to continue treatment once the package is complete, while others find resolution and choose to return as needed—or not. |
FOUR SESSION PACKAGE$480 (If paid in full after first session, or four payments of $140 each.)
|
EIGHT SESSION PACKAGE$950 (If paid in full after first session, or eight payments of $140 each.)
